From dealing with the stress and overwhelming nature of wedding planning to now a global pandemic threatening her nuptials, it comes as no surprise that actress Taraji P. Henson is pushing her wedding date back, again.
Henson, who is head over heels for boo Kelvin Hayden, has been engaged to the former NFL cornerback since May 2018. Before much of the world was placed under shelter-in-place orders, the lovebirds had their mind set on tying the knot in April of this year, though the idea was quickly knocked down.
“My wedding planner was like, ‘Okay, in case it rains, we’ll have umbrellas’…and I was like, ‘You know what, never mind about April, let’s move it later,’” explained Henson in February.
Though the Golden Globe-winning actress is deep in the planning process, her 36-year-old boo is choosing to go with the flow.
“Kelvin’s a typical guy, he doesn’t care. He’s like, ‘Whatever you say babe, whatever you want babe.’ He’ll roll with it, but he wants his ring,” said the actress.
Just as the couple set a new date, which was not made known to the public, the Empire star’s wedding became another social casualty of ‘the Rona.’
“It’s probably going to be more like July. We have to see what this will be like at the other end,” explained Henson during a video interview. “Our grandparents, my grandmother is about to turn 96, his is 86, how do we get them to the wedding now? Now, we are concerned, just trying to figure out the safest and best way,” added the future Mrs. of the the yet-again altered plans.
Though the wedding may seem like a faraway dream, the latest set back has been used as a time of reflection for the actress. Plus, her boo of four years is right by her side.
“He’s just like, my no. 1 fan, there for support. He loves me for me.”
