‘I’m Sorry’: Sherri Shepherd Driven to Tears After Realizing Her Son Won’t Return to School Until May, Fans Relate

It looks like Sherri Shepherd has had a mental breakdown after realizing her 14-year-old son, Jeffrey Tarpley, will not be returning to school until at least May. The 52-year-old comedian teared up on her Instagram Story and implied that she was heartbroken that the mother-son duo will be together 24/7.

Shepherd vented to her followers about being around her son during his two-month hiatus from school. “I’m sorry, I just … I just found out that the Los Angeles Unified School District is pushing school back to … May 1st. Jeffrey is going to be here for the rest of March, and he’s going to be doing online schooling for all of April. We’re gonna be together 24/7 until the 1st of May,” she cried.

Her son seemed unfazed by his mother’s tears and insisted that she would be fine despite her breakdown. Shepherd was seemingly upset that she had to prepare three meals a day for her child because he was no longer eating at school. “I’ll be fine. I gotta cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for you for the next two months,” she continued her rant.

Due to the cornoavirus outbreak, schools across the country have closed until further notice. Many parents are homeschooling their children, and they appear to be going crazy with having their children with them all day. People took to social media to empathize with Shepherd.

“😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 as a teacher this is hilarious.. now you know how we feel 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️,” one user wrote.

“Bonding is Good 😂 I am MENTAL HEALTH NURSE. Call me if you need to vent and laugh.🤣🤣,” a second user encouraged.

A third fan jokingly wrote, “Everybody stretch your hands towards sister Sherri lol…. she is quarantined with a teenager 😩.”

“Don’t let yourself walk on eggshells you’re stronger than you think you got this. 😊,” said a fourth.

A fifth user commented, “Lol lol. Maybe this will make folks keep their legs closed😂😂.”

“You are crazy for this!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Poor Jeffrey!” said a sixth.

The former “The View” panelist shares her 14-year-old son with her ex-husband Jeffrey Tarpley. The pair married in 2001 and divorced in 2010. Shepherd’s longtime friend Niecy Nash introduced Shepherd to her second husband, Hollywood screenwriter Lamar Sally. The duo tied the knot in 2011, and they divorced by 2017. Shepherd and Sally welcomed a baby boy via surrogate in 2014.

Shepherd appears to have a horrible co-parenting relationship with her two ex-husbands. The mother of two revealed in a lengthy Instagram post that she was raising her moody teenage son by herself. She encouraged fans to reach out to Tarpley to let him know that she needed help. She also shared that her former husband, Sally, put her through a long and draining custody battle with their son. Last year it was reported that the courts ordered her to pay $4,100 a month in child support to Sally and $131 a month to Tarpley.
