‘Keep the Faith’: Ciara and Russell Wilson Say They’re Donating 1 Million Meals to Help with Coronavirus Relief Efforts

Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson both posted an Instagram video on Tuesday, March 17 and said they’ll be donating one million meals to a food bank in Seattle, Washington, to help during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Obviously, this worldwide pandemic coronavirus is changing the world second by second, minute by minute,” said Wilson with Ciara right next to him. “People are losing loved ones. The elderly and the young, people in between. You think about people losing jobs, even in Seattle.”

“So what we’ve decided to do is partner with our local food bank in Seattle Food Lifeline, and we’re going to donate a million meals to hopefully make a difference,” he added.

Ciara spoke after that.

“We want to encourage everyone out there to join us in whatever way that you can, big or small,” she encouraged. “Everything that we do together makes a difference and together we will conquer this tough time that we’re going through.”

Ciara also told everyone to “keep the faith” and practice social distancing to slow down the spread of the virus. Both she and Wilson said they’re praying for everyone as well.

Ciara’s post has been viewed well over one million times in the first 16 hours of it being shared, and in the comments many thanked the couple for their generosity and encouraging words.

“I just love the two of you, so humble and caring! God Bless the two of you🙏🏽,” one person wrote.

“Just a great model of how a marriage and two great individuals come together to make a difference,” another stated.

“Ciara..You and your husband are remarkable,” a third follower wrote. “I sincerely felt the love and caring from you.”

News of Ciara and Wilson donating to the Seattle food bank comes a few days after Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry said they’ll give one million meals to students in Oakland, California.

The Currys made that announcement after the Oakland Unified School District said schools will be closed in that city until April 5.
