Lil Yachty Says He’s Selling Designer Toilet Paper During Coronavirus-Related Shortage

Along with things like hand sanitizer, face masks, rubbing alcohol and cans of Lysol, toilet paper has become a scarcity as a result of people’s fears of having to stay put for a while because of the coronavirus.

Lil Yachty took to Instagram Monday, March 16 over that reality, and offered a solution to that one particular shortage. He says he has toilet tissue to sell.

“As u all may have heard, I went broke a while back so I’ve decided to flip designer toilet paper as a new career,” he wrote next to four rolls of toilet paper wrapped in A Bathing Ape package. “So bape toilet paper.. sure.. price May be a little steep.. but it’s a rare necessity currently.. so $500…”

Yachty’s post actually has to do with the deal he scored with the digital retailer Grailed, where consumers can purchase items from his closet.

Last year Future also partnered with Grailed, and the proceeds went to his FreeWishes Foundation, which helps those living in underserved communities.

As for Yachty, there were a lot of people who found his post comical, but there were others who said they were serious about making a purchase.

“$500 toilet paper🤦‍♂️ I’ll take it,” wrote one of his Instagram followers.

“Need 4 packs ASAP,” a second person stated.

“What ply is it and I may consider,” a third follower asked.

“I’m tryna buy. Serious inquiry,” another person’s comment read.

Another rapper who posted a message about toilet paper is 50 Cent, who uploaded a photo of two rolls on Instagram

“I was just thinking if you really need some, i’m here for you. LOL,” he wrote on Sunday.

In fact, the toilet paper shortage has gotten so bad that people have been calling 911, which the Newport Oregon Police Department sent a statement about.

“It’s hard to believe that we even have to post this,” their message read. “Do not call 9-1-1 just because you ran out of toilet paper. You will survive without our assistance.”
