Cardi B might be getting into politics at some point, which is something she communicated on Sunday, Jan. 12, on Twitter.

“I think I want to be a politician,” she wrote, nine days after the United States launched an airstrike that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani. “I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Government.”

“Like I was watching War http://documentaries,” Cardi added. “No matter how many weapons a country have you need people ! How are you trying to go against a country and possibly start a war when this country lacks patriotism? I barely see people claiming they LOVE being American.”

Cardi has certainly brought up politics before. Like in January 2019 when she addressed the government shutdown.

“Now I know a lot of y’all don’t care [about the shutdown], because y’all don’t work for the government, or ya’ll probably don’t even have a job but this sh– is really f—— serious,” she said then.

Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz, as well as Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy, responded to the tweet and said they were hesitant to share it because of the curse words used.

Then in August of last year, a video surfaced that showed Cardi interviewing Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, who she’s been a big supporter of.

They spoke at The TEN Nailbar in Detroit about topics like racism, immigration and minimum wage, and their conversation made headlines.

In the last two tweets Cardi sent about becoming a politician, she promised to talk about it more on video in the future. The 27-year-old then said she’ll need some schooling before going into politics, but she’s full of good ideas.

“I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress,” tweeted Cardi. “I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense. I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table.”

Later, in the comments, some said Cardi should stick to making records, while others seemed to love the idea of the rapper becoming a politician.

“Mayor. Governor. Senator,” wrote one of her fans, suggesting what political path the rapper should take.

“You’ve got my vote,” wrote someone else.
