‘Das My Twinnn’: Reginae Carter Fans Do a Double Take After They Mistake Her for Mother Toya Wright

Reginae Carter is apparently a spitting image of her mother Toya Wright.

Although folks often flood both Carter’s and her mother’s posts with comments on how much they resemble each other, they also seem to have a difficult time telling them apart. On January 7, the young actress took to Instagram and uploaded a photo of herself at the movie theater to watch the film “Underwater.”

She captioned her post, ” I loved @underwatermovie! Make sure you guys check it out when it comes out this Friday!! #underwater.”

In the image, Carter rocked all black, including a Fendi jacket and Fendi visor hat. At first glance, looking at the 21-year-old’s face, fans immediately mistook her for her mother Wright.

“U look just like YOUR Moma! I had to zoom in to know that was u! Smh!!! Honestly up until just now u have always looked more like your Dad! A beautiful combination of two beautiful spirited people!❤️”

“I thought you were your mom @toyajohnson 😩😍 definitely your momma twin 😍”

“Definitely had to do a double take, looking identical to your mom🌹♥️ girl I can’t tell who is who 🤣”

Another fan commented, “Literally thought you were Toya,” to which Carter responded, “das my twinnnn.”

Wright welcomed the “Pride & Prejudice” actress with ex-husband and rapper Lil Wayne when she was only 15 years old.

Both Carter and Wright are extremely close and their relationship often has been criticized. After watching the first season of “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” on which the duo appeared, many fans felt Wright wasn’t hard enough on her eldest child. The mother of two, however, explained that she’s not only her daughter’s mother, she’s also her friend.

“Reginae and I are very close,” Wright told Cosmopolitan during an interview in 2017. “I’m not only her mother, but her friend. When I first had Reginae, I had so much support from my family and of course her Dad, Wayne. The advice I would give to any parent is, always be open with your children. We have been very blessed!”
