‘Keep Pushing’: Halle Berry Breaks Silence on Suffering Injury From MMA Movie Filming

Halle Berry is currently filming the MMA movie “Bruised,” and during a fight scene she received some sort of injury. But the actress already issued a statement and told fans not to worry about her.

Neither Berry or Brian Pitt, the executive producer of the film, explained what caused the injury, but Pitt said it wasn’t very serious. “Halle got slightly injured in the fight,” he told NJ Advance Media. “She’s tired. She needed a break.”

After receiving plenty of well-wishes from fans, Berry issued her statement on Wednesday via Instagram and thanked everyone for their concern. She also seemed to correct Pitt’s claim that filming left her fatigued.

“Thank you to all the folks that have showered me with love since my injury,” wrote Berry. “It’s par for the course when you do your own stunts, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Just know I’m far from tired. I’m wide awake…and just getting started! 💪🏽🙏🏽 #BruisedTheMovie.”

Filming was initially scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, at Mack’s Elite Heat Boxing Gym in Newark, New Jersey, but it’s been rescheduled due to the actress’s injury. Reportedly, there’s currently a sign on the gym that reads “Gym closed till 12/2/19. Do not enter.”

“Occasionally what’s going to happen is an actor might get a little injured, and we might adjust scheduling around them a little bit,” Pitt explained.

“Bruised” is said to be about an embattled MMA fighter named Jackie who fights personal demons while trying to reconnect with her 6-year-old son Manny.

And despite Berry’s injury, she said filming it has allowed her to reach new levels of fitness since she’s met so many different people.

“My training for #BruisedTheMovie has introduced me to so many incredible individuals – professional athletes and trainers that have pushed my inner-warrior to places I would have never imagined!” she wrote Nov. 1 on Instagram.

Under the 53-year-old’s post about her injury, her fans wished her a speedy recovery and told her how much she inspires them.

“Checking in to see how you’re doing! Same age and my fitness motivator!! ❤” one person commented.

“Keep pushing! Never stop! We are right here rallying behind you!😍😍,” another stated.

“You are truly an inspiration 👏,” a third person wrote.
