Leakes told “Entertainment Tonight” earlier this month that her co-stars “all seem to want to be the queen, or the one that everybody thinks of when they say, ‘Housewives.’ I don’t think that that’s possible. I think there’s one queen and there’s a lot of princesses.”
But when Burruss caught wind of Leakes’ claim, she couldn’t help but giggle.
“What make her think she’s the queen?” Burruss said before bursting into laughter. “You know, that’s that ego thing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to claim ‘the queen’ — I feel like everybody on this show is a queen.”
“One person can’t carry it,” Burruss added of “RHOA” being an ensemble show. “So, with that being said, much love to her. I’m glad she’s here, but I would never say that there is one queen and a whole bunch of princesses because those first two episodes went along just fine, people tuned in and life went on. Everybody has fans on the show.”
Burruss’ remark, which noted Leakes’ absence from the first two episodes of season 12, led to tons of chatter among “RHOA” fans and those who stan Leakes.
“I love this. She’s clearly incredibly secure in her own self and what she brings to the table. I love that she also recognises and celebrates every other person’s individuality 🙌🏾. Nene’s insecurity is ALWAYS jumping out”
“Kandi STOP !!!!!”
“NeeNee is the Queen! Tho Kandi is the best business woman on the shoe and is well liked and makes the most money because the only story line she has is getting caught in gossip every once in a while!!! Bravo girl!”
“These Nene fans are in there feelings 😂😂”
Whether Leakes fans feel a way or not, according to fellow peachholder Kenya Moore, their fav is not the biggest earner on the show.
Moore said on “The Wendy Williams Show” that Burruss takes home the biggest “RHOA” check, indicating the Xscape singer wears the crown on the show. But if you ask Burruss about her income from the show, her lips are sealed.
“I’m not going to confirm neither here nor there,” she told “ET.” “What I will say is I’ve seen what the blogs said for years, and they’ve never had my salary right, OK?”
