Cynthia Bailey Gives Ultimate Credit to Steve Harvey for Meeting Beau Mike Hill by Asking Him to Do This

It’s no secret by now that Steve Harvey is responsible for “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey getting engaged to Mike Hill.

Bailey and Hill met on the comedian’s former talk show in the spring of 2018 and the Fox Sports 1 newscaster popped the question in July of this year. Now that a wedding date has been set, Bailey has a special request for Harvey.

“I would love for him to do that,” Bailey told Too Fab at LAX recently of her hopes for Harvey to officiate her wedding to her fiancé. “I haven’t talked to him about it yet — obviously, he knows that we’re engaged. We have our date, which is perfect: 10/10/2020. And to make it even more perfect, having Steve officiate would be a happy ending.”

Harvey became an ordained minister in New York so he could wed TV host Maria Menounos and her now-husband Keven Undergaro live on Fox’s “New Year’s Eve with Steve Harvey” in 2017. In order to do the same for Bailey, however, he’d have to get his credentials further south, as the “RHOA” star is looking to wed in Georgia.

But while she is based in the Southeastern United States, Hill resides on the West Coast in Los Angeles. The pair have made their long-distance relationship work with regular visits, but Bailey was initially going to go with another potential suitor rather than Hill that April 2018 day.

“Cynthia Bailey was going to pick somebody else,” Harvey said to “Entertainment Tonight” in September 2018. “I told her, ‘You’re not picking that guy, you gon’ pick this guy [referring to Hill]. I talked her into him, they started dating. … She’s found somebody that’s she’s crazy about.”

When Bailey and Hill appeared on “Steve” for an update last November, Harvey said, “I keep telling women, yo’ soulmate, it don’t matter to this man where you live.”

“I only leaned toward the other guy a bit because he had a home-court advantage!” Bailey recalled to Too Fab of why she initially was going to begin dating another man she met on “Steve.” She also noted she and her fiancé are “grateful” for Harvey, who Bailey said is “the reason why we met.”

“I would love to have Steve Harvey there,” she added.

Harvey has yet to publicly respond to Bailey’s request.
