‘Show Out Then’: Kandi Burruss’ Big Chop Has Fans Fawning

It seems Kandi Burruss finally took the plunge and cut off the bulk of her hair.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star on Monday uploaded a photo to promote the business of a young entrepreneur, but fans were quickly taken by her new short ‘do instead.

“Earlier this year I met a young designer by the name of @tythetrilla at #ClarkAtlantaUniversity. He just dropped his new collection @gammacollection. Show him some love y’all! Support young designers!” read the caption of the singer’s Oct. 28 post.

Fans began by remarking on how much Burruss backs young business owners.

“Your so supportive I F—ING LOVEEEE IT ♥️♥️♥️”

“Kandi you ALWAYS looking out for people and supporting small businesses. Love you girl! ♥️”

“You’re always putting other people on, spreading knowledge and showing how to keep a coin. Such an all around bomb woman ❤️”

But then, others couldn’t help but notice the much-shorter hairstyle the reality star was rocking in the pic.

“That cut is everything 💯”

“Show out then 😍”

“Love your Hair!!! Yessss 😍”

“Kandi you hair looks amazing!! You look fresh @kandi”

“Giving me that Xscape ‘Feels so good’ vibes I loved that video”

The latter comment reflects exactly the kind of remarks Burruss was inundated with when she teased she’d cut her hair in a video she posted on Instagram TV earlier this month. In the footage, former “RHOA” staple and hairstylist Derek J flat ironed the wig Burruss is currently wearing.

“Her best looks are with shorter hair,” he said before adding, “anything above the shoulder is what good for her.”

Burruss enjoyed the look, remarking her stylist was”gon’ have me feeling myself.”

Fans, meanwhile, instantly recalled the star’s image from Xscape’s 1995 sophomore album “Off the Hook.”

“You went back to your xscape days favvv ❤️❤️ this look like the same look from the feels so good video 😍😍😍😍”

Burruss is no stranger to having above-the-neck-length hair in her career after the 1990s, either. When the hitmaker first appeared on “Housewives” in 2009, she had a more tapered haircut. Burruss herself remarked on the style a couple of times, including in a throwback post with Sister 2 Sister magazine publisher/owner Jamie Foster Brown.

“#FBF about 11yrs ago somewhere with @jamiefosterbrown. I have no idea where we were but since I’m reminiscing about my short haircut I thought I’d post this. 💇🏾‍♀️,” Burruss said in August. At the time, she was considering chopping off her hair again.
