Tiffany Haddish said being lectured by Morgan Freeman was completely worth it.
On Sunday the “Girl’s Trip” actress attended ceremonies for the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where Dave Chappelle was honored in front a number of celebrities.
At one point, Haddish decided to snap a selfie of herself with Freeman, and she explained afterward what he said. You can see the “Lean On Me” actor give Haddish somewhat of a side-look in the photo while she smiled.
“I ran up on @morganfreeman and he check the Hell out of me and I didn’t care,” she wrote on Sunday. “Cause like I told him ‘I am Tiffany MotherF**king Haddish and I take pictures all the time ShE Ready’ ….😂 love you #morganfreeman#marktwainprize.”
Some of Haddish’s fellow celebrities left comments afterwards, like Damon Wayans Jr.
“😂😂😂😂😂 What’d he say to you after you snapped It? Something mean but soothing?” asked Wayans Jr.
“He said give me some flash and he shook my hand and told me he proud of me,” Haddish wrote back.
Other famous people left comments as well.
“Nice,” wrote Arsenio Hall.
“This n—a tryna smash, ” the actor and comedian Jay Pharoah commented.
And it’s easy to tell “Wild ‘N Out’s” DC Young Fly was tickled by the photo, because he left three laughing emojis underneath it.
Plus, the comedian Joe Torry said he wasn’t surprised at Freeman’s reaction.
“LOL.. I KNOW HE DID😂😂😂 #GrownFolksDon’tPlay☠️,” he wrote.
