It looks like “Love and Hip Hop: New York” actress Erica Mena is over naysayers spewing negative remarks about her becoming a second-time mother.
Mena and her fiancé Safaree Samuels were on cloud nine earlier this week after announcing she was pregnant. Although the couple were showered with an abundant of congratulatory messages, there were still those who questioned her current mothering efforts.
The 31-year-old is also the mother of 12-year-old King Conde, whom she shares with former Terror Squad member Raul Conde. She apparently rarely posts about her son, and social media users highlighted this fact.
“But she barely takes cares of the… Nevermind,” said an Instagram user.
One Twitter user tweeted, “Soooo….are we gonna just not talk about the first kid she had and gave to her Mama to raise or….???”
The “LHHNY” star caught wind of the parenting criticism and fired back, “You ignorant species love discussing a kid who lives an incredible happy life off social media and TV. Making up rumors about his life just to have some BS to talk about. I feel so sorry for how pathetic you are.”
In July, Mena shared a video post featuring her son King. She told fans that her son was extremely shy and preferred her to not post him on social media, which is why fans rarely see him.
“My son gave me permission to post this,” she wrote on July 2. “Me: omg King please can I post this 😍 King: Mom social media is Corrupt and extremely malicious. I want no parts Mommy ( His exact words to be exact) Me: Well you got that right baby boy.”
According, to a 2015 “LHHNY” reunion taping, Mena claimed at the time that her mother, who lived in Florida, watched over King when she had to work.
Despite what naysayers claim, it’s clear Mena and Samuels are looking forward to becoming new parents. The “No Regular Girl” rapper could barely contain his excitement and added, “I’m excited, I’m nervous, I’m in shock, I’m in disbelief … It’s like very surreal to me.”
It’s unclear how far along Mena is or when she will give birth. This will be Samuels’ first child.
