Can You Handle This? Mathew Knowles Reveals There’s an Unreleased Destiny’s Child Album

Fans loved it when Destiny’s Child reunited at the Super Bowl in 2013 and also in 2018 at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. And it’s safe to say if another album were released from the trio the reaction would be massive.

Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé‘s father and Destiny’s Child’s manager, told In Touch Weekly that he has an unreleased album from the group, whose other members besides his daughter included Kelly Rowland as well as Michelle Williams. And he plans to release the LP at some point.

Earlier this year, Knowles announced that “Survivor: The Destiny’s Child Musical” is on its way, and it’ll premiere in Houston next year. And based on what he said in the interview, the release of the album will coincide with the opening of the stage show.

Je’Caryous Johnson, who wrote the the stage play based on the 1996 film “Set If Off,” has been tapped to pen the script. And it’ll be told from Knowles’ perspective, while Beyoncé and the other Destiny’s Child members won’t be involved.

“I own the rights to an album,” said Knowles. “These are great songs, 16 of them. You’ll see the synergy between the album, book and musical.”

Although they’ve made occasional appearances together, Destiny’s Child officially broke up in 2006, with their last album being “Destiny Fulfilled,” which dropped in 2004.

And whether they’ll fully reunite one day is obviously unknown, but Knowles said he’d definitely be all for it.

“Nothing’s confirmed,” he said about a reunion. “I would personally love it, and I know their fans would too, but the ladies are working on individual projects.”

Knowles also explained that although he hasn’t gotten an official blessing from the women about the musical, “No one has said don’t do it.”

In another part of the interview, the 67-year-old revealed that he’s still the official Destiny’s Child manager but has nothing to do with their individual careers. He also doesn’t handle any of the business affairs relating to his daughter Solange.

“Hopefully it’s a HONEST musical 💯💯💯,” one of his followers wrote on Instagram. “I want to see how the magic happened & the TRUTH behind the Destinys Child story nothing sugarcoated but I’m patiently waiting cause they’re my favorite girl group of all time.”

As of now, there hasn’t been a release date set for the album.
