Kevin Hart Will Need Extensive Rehab Following Traumatic Car Accident, 911 Call Released

More details have surfaced about Kevin Hart‘s condition after he was in a car crash in Malibu, California, on Sunday.

As reported, the 40-year-old was in the passenger seat of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when driver Jared Black lost control on the Mulholland Highway and crashed into a fence. The roof of the car was torn off after it landed in a ditch, and Hart was pinned inside.

Black’s fiancée, Rebecca Broxterman, who’s Eniko Parrish‘s trainer, Hart’s wife, was also in the vehicle.

Hart had to undergo surgery after he left the scene, and while it was said to be a success, the comedian still has a long road of physical therapy ahead of him, according to TMZ.

A source of the celebrity news site said the “Night School” actor is supposed to be released from the hospital by week’s end, and besides the physical therapy there will be a number of follow-up doctor visits he’ll have to attend.

The California Highway Patrol are now looking to see if speed was a factor in the crash after a witness said he or she heard the driver peeling out right before. Police have already determined that alcohol wasn’t a factor.

The 911 call was released as well, where a male witness can be heard relaying to the operator what he saw.

“Sounds like the passenger is stuck in the car,” the man said. “The driver is out of the car, but he looks a little hurt. I think the top of the car is crushed.”

Black had to be airlifted to UCLA Medical Center once help arrived, and at this time his condition is unknown. Broxterman, meanwhile, walked away with minor pain.

As for Hart, Parrish spoke to a reporter after the surgery and said her husband will be “just fine.”
