‘Somebody Knows Something’: Georgia Teen Walks to Store and Never Returns Home

The family of a metro Atlanta teen is worried about his safety after the child reportedly walked to a convenience store Wednesday morning and failed to return home.

Jamarkus Burnside, 16, was last seen at the store in the Stone Mountain area, which is about 20 miles northeast of Atlanta, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

His mother told DeKalb County police Burnside frequented stores in the area of Central Drive and North Hairston Road, according to a police incident report Fox 5 obtained.

The teen’s sister, Yosha Burnside, told the news station her brother has never run away from home.

“At this point, somebody knows something,” she said. “Somebody either has my brother, and not saying anything, and they need to say something because this is not OK. His whole family is here worried for him.”

The missing teen is described as 5 feet 4, weighing about 135 pounds with dark brown eyes and brown hair, authorities said.

Anyone with information about his disappearance is asked to call the DeKalb County Police Department.
