Cassie is continuing to bask in the joy of impending motherhood, and for the first time she’s sharing her growing belly with fans. However, they got distracted by a detail she decided to include in the image.
Letting the August 26 photo speak on its own without a caption, the “Me & U” singer sat on a rock with her legs crossed as she cradled her stomach in her hands while waves crashed behind her. Appearing to be completely nude, the birthday girl’s long hair covered her breasts. But the expectant mother’s face was also curiously covered with a bejeweled mask shielding from view whatever look she was serving to the camera.
Some fans were able to appreciate the maternity shoot and gave the 33-year-old props for her choice and her impending arrival.

But the artistic decision left fans puzzled and soon talk focused on that rather than giving praise to the mom-to-be.

Cassie announced she and boyfriend Alex Fine, who is a celebrity fitness trainer, were expecting a baby girl back in June.
“Can’t wait to meet our baby girl 💗 Love You Always & Forever,” she wrote in the caption of a selfie of the couple in a car with Fine’s arm wrapped around her.
Fine also announced the news on his own Instagram account writing in part, “I never thought my heart could grow bigger after meeting your mother… then I found out we were having you and I instantly felt a love that is so indescribable.”
The announcement came rather swiftly after Cassie had broken up with longtime on-and-off boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs for a final time last year. Cassie had linked up with Fine by December 2018.
Despite their split, Diddy seemed to offer kind words to his ex-girlfriend amid news of her pregnancy.
“This is a word you need to hear. YES I’M TALKING TO YOU!” Combs captioned footage of a sermon espousing the importance of being patient. “Be patient, watch, listen. Have a beautiful day. I love you… from LOVE.”
