The wife of House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, is asking the public to help identify the man who burglarized their Baltimore home.
Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, who also serves as chairwoman of the Maryland Democratic Party, posted still photos from surveillance camera footage on Twitter Saturday.
“Has anyone in the Twitterverse ever seen the symbol on this hat?” she asked. “It was the only distinguishing feature of the man who recently broke into our home.”
Rockeymoore Cummings was able to track down the logo, which seems to be a crab, on a sweatshirt and polo shirt on the site ArtistShot.com.
She tweeted a photo of the sweatshirt Sunday.
“Thanks to those who suggested the logo represents kissing shrimp or lobster,” she said in the tweet. “While googling shrimp and lobster logos, I came upon a hanging crab logo. While very similar towards the bottom, the top somehow doesn’t seem the same.”
The break-in happened July 27 hours before President Donald Trump targeted Cummings on Twitter.
Trump tweeted that the lawmaker “has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA……”
The president also said, “If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”
Trump’s shots didn’t stop when he learned of the break-in.
“Really bad news! The Baltimore house of Elijah Cummings was robbed. Too bad!” the president tweeted.
