Talk show host Wendy Williams disclosed she had her own inklings that estranged husband Kevin Hunter had a double life.
During an interview with Bravo executive Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM show “Radio Andy,” Williams explained she knew more than folks seemed to think she did about Hunter and his alleged decade-long affair with mistress Sharina Hudson.
“Very difficult, very difficult,” Williams said in the Monday, August 12, interview of how hard it was to come to work each day and do “The Wendy Williams Show” as the Daily Mail ran stories about her relationship with her husband.
Among the articles published were reports that Hunter had been cheating on Williams for 10 years and housed Hudson in a lavish NYC pad after moving her out of the home they shared in New Jersey, which wasn’t too far away from the home he had with Williams and their son, Kevin Hunter Jr. The publication has also reported that Hudson welcomed a baby believed to be Hunter’s in March.
The TV personality said on “Radio Andy” “I knew that I would” respond but “I had to get my ducks in a row. I knew a lot of things for a lot of years. … but my son was at home. It wasn’t fair to him. I’m not going to grab his hand and flee the scene and move zip codes. Now he has to move high schools and stuff like that. He’s just making friends.
“Now he’s away in college and the person that I am now is very single because he’s not living with me. He goes to school in Miami.”
Williams added that regardless of the U.K. tabloid snapping photos of Hudson and Hunter together and on vacation, she “would’ve known anyway, I had my own,” she said of the photos.
Asked by Cohen if she would have stayed in her 22-year marriage, the former radio personality quipped, “Are you out of your mind? I can take a lot, but I’m not raising a family.”
Folks who heard the interview responded to Williams’ admission less than kindly.
“She did her son a greater disservice by staying all of those years.”
“But you busy chatting other people business on your show tho 😩”
“She might as well tell the whole story on her show 🙄 at this point.”
Regardless of what the status of her marriage is now, Williams previously said she wishes Hunter well with his new life.
“I still have love for him, and I wish him the best in his new life with his new family,” she said on “Sway In the Morning.”
