Cassie is going through big changes in many areas of her life.

The 32-year-old parted ways with Sean “Diddy” Combs, for one, after a decade of their being together on and off. She also started dating fitness trainer Alex Fine soon afterward, and in June she revealed that she’s pregnant with his child.

Not only that, Cassie said she’s coming into her own as a woman and couldn’t be more excited about being a mother.

“My priorities have absolutely changed,” she told L’Officiel. “Not just for creating an amazing future and life for my daughter, but because I want her to be proud of me. I’ve heard people say that they’re nervous to raise females in today’s world, but I’m excited. I can’t wait to see her grow, learn and challenge the world right back.”

Cassie is also going through some changes regarding her art, and she’s released new music with a whole new team, which consists of Black and Brown females.

In late June, she dropped the song “Excuses,” a soulful R&B cut about self-preservation. She released the cut “Hungover” after that, followed by “Don’t Let Go, and they were all released on her own label Ventura Music.

Cassie said she’s now creating songs from a place of sincerity instead of “overthinking” everything, and she’s stopped being overly critical of herself.

Plus, the model and singer said her music is really for her daughter, and she explained what type of mom she wants to be.

“The kind of role model that shows her that she can be whomever she wants to be and that she has all of the love and support in the world,” Cassie explained.

“I hope to make her understand the bigger picture in life and that you don’t have to solely be one thing in this world. I want her to know that she can choose,” she added. “My music is just part of a legacy that I wish to leave behind, for her and other women to be inspired by.”
