It seems social media won’t let “Love and Hip Hop” couple Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena be great.
Samuels kicked off his 38th birthday on Thursday with luxurious gifts and an over-the-top pool party in Jamaica thrown by his fiancée Mena. A few of the rapper’s gifts included several pairs of Fear of God sneakers, a Louis Vuitton sling bag, and a two-tone stainless steel and rose gold Rolex Yacht-Master II watch that retails for around $22,490, which was gifted by his soon-to-be wife.
“My Fiancé got me a bloodclawtttt 2tone white & Rose gold ROLEXXXXXX YACHT MASTER II !!,” Samuels excitedly wrote via Instagram Thursday. “I have wanted this watch for yearrsssssss!!! … The gifts are amazing but the love I felt today is beyond describable! I feel truly blessed 🙏🏾 thank you @iamerica_mena for going all out for me today and thank you for allll the love today to my friends & family.”
The “LHHNY” star’s elated birthday post however took a turn for the worse when fans questioned Mena’s financial status. Many seemed to believe she couldn’t afford Samuels’ gifts on her own and instead purchased them with his money.

Just last week, the couple seemed to be on the verge of breaking up after Samuels’ ex-girlfriend Gabrielle Davis put him on blast for allegedly cheating on Mena. In return, the soon-to-be bride deleted all the rapper’s photos from her social media accounts and recorded herself trashing an apartment.
Days later they were spotted back together and confirmed they were still getting married. Samuels even apologized to Mena for publicly embarrasing her, writing on Twitter June 28, “I apologize for any embarrassment I have brought to you for me being immature. I apologize from the depth of my soul & heart.”
Despite the amount of fans who clowned Mena for quickly making up with Samuels after the cheating scandal, others were still rooting for their love.
