A pre-screening of the newest OWN network series in Atlanta brought out many local celebrities, including several stars of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Cynthia Bailey, Tanya Sam and Marlo Hampton were among those who stepped out Monday night to attend the premiere of “Ambitions.”
However, fans who saw Sam and Bailey snapping photos with Hampton were surprised. The reason? Hampton’s bestie Nene Leakes has categorized the pair as enemies.
Bailey shared a photo taken of herself, Sam, Hampton and Tiny Harris at the event on her Instagram page Tuesday.
“ambition is a good thing,” she captioned the image in support of the Robin Givens-starring vehicle before tagging the ladies in the message.
An hour later, Sam also shared the image on her page. However, Hampton has noticeably not put the pic on her Instagram page as of Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, footage has also surfaced of Sam, Bailey and Hampton posing for a few pics together.
Fans figured the image would make Leakes shudder.
“Is marlo allowed to be hanging out with those two😏”
“Marlo kno her ass gonna get in trouble 😩”
“Smh. Marlo about to be on punishment.”
“Marlo about to get cut off ✂️”
“Chilllllleeeee nene going awf in 3 …. 2 ….. 1 ‘MARLO SUPPORT ME B—H’”
“I live for this bcus I know it’ll eat NeNe alive to see it lol.”
After the tense “RHOA” season 11 reunion filmed in March, Leakes famously unfollowed all but two of her fellow cast members, and Sam and Bailey were among those given the boot. That left just longtime friend Hampton and “RHOA” newbie Shamari DeVoe as the only cast mates Leakes continued to get updates from on her timeline.
Apparently, Leakes took issue with the way she felt the women responded to her during the sit-down, which she explained during an Instagram Live stream in March.
“They all needed to say something … And they only way of thinking they can step up is to step to me … [to] make the executives pay them some attention,” she said. “So a lot of the girls tried to secure the bag because their bags are just not quite secured. I don’t have to follow them on social media. It’s not that big of a deal to me. I don’t want to see their s—.”
Leakes also distanced herself from Bailey and Sam, who was initially introduced on “RHOA” as one of her friends before being described as a friend of Eva Marcille.
“After 11 seasons I finally realize that these girls are my co-workers,” Leakes explained. “They all were trying to secure the bag because half of them are boring so they had no other choice but to come for me — they tried to come [for me], how ’bout that.”
