Fans Roast T.I. After He Takes Lil Duval’s ‘Black Men Don’t Cheat’ Oath: ‘Ya’ll Lying Lying’

It seems T.I.‘s decision to join Lil Duval‘s “Black Men Don’t Cheat” movement woefully backfired on him this week.

The “Living My Best Life” artist teamed up with Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God on their new single “Black Men Don’t Cheat,” which dropped on Wednesday. The track has so far created a firestorm on social media.

With the hashtag #blackmendontcheat trending on Twitter Wednesday morning, the Instagram comedian took to his timeline and wrote, “Today we celebrate all the men that try to be faithful. …. From this day forth we will try harder to be better. BLACK MEN STAND UP!!!!”

Already having the backing of featured artist Charlamagne, Lil Duval apparently gained the support of another big-name celebrity, rapper T.I.

The comedian-turned-R&B artist took to his Instagram Wednesday evening and posted a photo of himself and the “Bring Em Out” rapper throwing up the fist pump in celebration of his newly released song and anthem.

“Tip took the oath and said he solemnly swears to try his best to be faithful from this day forth ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 y’all join me in welcoming @troubleman31 for taking the first step in being a better man #blackmendontcheat,” Lil Duval wrote, perhaps intending to be tongue-in-cheek.

Needless to say, T.I., who has been linked to several industry women throughout his eight years of marriage to Xscape singer Tiny Harris, may have not been the best face for Lil Duval’s so-called “don’t cheat” movement.

“Tip knows he’s a Jussie Smollet lie 🤣😩🤦🏾‍ y’all funny asf!” one fan wrote.

Another added, “His best is undoubtedly not good enough, he’ll break this oath expeditiously 😩.”

“That ‘try his best’ going to stir up some things at the Harris house 😂😂 y’all gonna have to get some new faces behind this campaign Quick!” a third fan said.

“Tuh 🤣 not T.I. lawd please let this movement pass quickly cuz yall lying lying. Tiny might as well gon head and pick out her next vehicle. I suggest a truck this time 😂!”

T.I.’s expeditous dragging by fans stems from his apparent cheating scandal with “Greenleaf” actress Asia’h Epperson, with whom Tip was caught on camera kissing on the neck and smacking on the booty last year. He’s also been linked to urban model Bernice Burgos, whom he allegedly had an affair with in 2017.

Tiny has yet to respond.

As for Lil Duval, it seems he’s “living his best life” with his new widely talked about single. Check out “Black Men Don’t Cheat” below:

Democracy needs journalism it can trust.

This election season, the stakes are higher than usual — and so is the pressure on newsrooms to soften their coverage, stay quiet, or just disappear. Independent reporting, the kind that answers to readers instead of advertisers or political pressure, matters more in a moment like this, not less.

For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed independent and reader-funded. We have no corporate owner and no shareholders telling us what to cover or how to cover it. That independence is also our biggest vulnerability: nothing protects it except readers choosing to fund it directly.

Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under in a moment like this, it's rarely the independent, reader-funded ones that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
