R&B singer Monica Brown made it clear this weekend that she never steps out of character for negative nellies.
Over the past few weeks, the “Don’t Take It Personal” artist uploaded a chain of fashion posts showing off her eccentric style, but it seems not all of her followers were fans of how she dressed.
Sunday evening, Monica took to her Instagram account and shared an image of herself mixing high-end and athleisure garments together for her offbeat look. She wore a matching yellow hoodie and shorts set paired with a black and white snakeskin trench coat and identical colored sneakers. She also topped off her overall look with a yellow dad cap and black sunglasses.

Nevertheless, a fan bombarded Monica’s post, making it known he/she wasn’t impressed by the celeb’s sense of fashion.
“Sis you need to hire a new stylist,” the person critiqued.
The “Hell No” singer clearly wasn’t in the mood for any tomfoolery and gracefully shot back, “Now now! Let’s be nice! I see your picture & would never blurt out my unsolicited opinion! I dress how I feel, as you should ❤️.”
Followers of Monica backed her up against the critic.
One person wrote, “@monicabrown well said! Love your energy MB! 👏 When they go low we go high 😤.”
Another fan added, “There is nothing wrong wit her style you hater! Monica is the last person who needs advice on her looks. She’s a teacher not a student ❤️.”
As of late, the “T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle” star has been going through a divorce with her husband, former NBA player Shannon Brown, whom she’d been married to since November 2010. It’s unclear as to why the pair are divorcing, but she seemingly made it clear on the VH1 series that she and Brown are seemingly over for good.
“I’m just gonna stay focused on my kids, make sure that nothing’s changing how they feel,” she said.
She and Shannon share 5-year-old daughter Laiyah Brown together. She also has two sons, Rocko and Romelo Hill, from her previous relationship with Atlanta rapper Rocko Hill.
