Joe Budden is claiming that the breakup rumors surrounding Safaree Samuels and his fiancée Erica Mena are true.
Fans speculated the “Love and Hip Hop: New York” couple broke up a few weeks ago after noticing the two haven’t posted any photos or videos of each other on social media, which apparently is quite unusual. Folks also claimed the model shaded Samuels on her Instagram Story earlier this month, seemingly indicating that she wanted to be loved properly.
To add more fire to the flame, the twosome’s archnemesis Budden recently claimed the rumors were true, saying that it was the “Hunnid” rapper who broke up with Mena.
“Oh speaking of smoke, you brought up Safaree broke up with Erica,” Budden said during the latest episode of his podcast “The Joe Budden Podcast With Rory & Mal.”
Budden’s co-star Mal then made reference to the podcaster and Samuels’ recent beef over Mena and his now ex-fiancée Cyn Santana.
“Look how life works both of you niggas was ready to fight in the sand … and now ya’ll both single. Now ya’ll can be back cool,” to which the “Pump It Up” rapper seemingly nodded to in a yes manner.
Budden’s claims follow a week after Mena denied reports of her and Samuels’ alleged split. Last week, gossip site Media Take Out reported the model broke up with her fiancé after one of their sources claimed he’d been texting his ex-girlfriend and Mega-rapper Nicki Minaj.
Mena however addressed the allegations with a tweet, writing, “FYI to all you flogs if my “ Fiancé “ were to EVER get caught texting any female but me he wouldn’t be able to walk right now. Believe dat! Sincerely a real crazy Latina.”
The “Hunnid” rapper also tweeted a photo of Mena on his Twitter timeline Sunday evening and wrote, “I miss my f–king woman 😡 🤬.”
His fiancée then retweeted, “@IAMSAFAREE I got plans for you once I get home 😋.”
It seems the couple may still be together, but fans aren’t sure who or what to believe.
