Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That: TLC Discloses Reason for Not Wanting to Join ‘RHOA’ Despite Multiple Offers

TLC has done just about everything singers can spread their wings to do. From writing a memoir to acting stints on soaps like “Days of Our Lives” and TV movies like “A Diva’s Christmas Carol.” They’ve even had their share of reality TV appearances, including their own shows in the form of “Totally T-Boz” and “What Chilli Wants.” But one thing the group members will not do is join “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

While discussing their upcoming summer tour with Nelly and Flo Rida, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas explained they’ve been asked several times to expose their lives in front of the Bravo cameras.

And each time, they’ve declined.

“Heck no,” Chilli, whose been offered the gig twice, told “Entertainment Tonight” Wednesday. “No way.”

“I did one for Kandi [Burruss] one time, a cameo” T-Boz begins of her season 2 appearance. “This is the thing, I don’t play like that. Like, I’m not arguing, I’m too old to be arguing and first of all, I don’t argue with nobody I don’t care about. If I care about you, I will take the time to do this. But I’m not arguing with no grown women. What? I’ll end up going to jail for real. Like, I don’t do that.”

“And I wouldn’t be able to bail her out because I would be right there with her,” Chilli adds, backing up her group member.

T-Boz continued by noting that even her mom said the singer’s temper would make her unfit to become a peach holder. Further, T-Boz, who has been given four offers to go on the show, noted some housewives have gone too far.

“It’s not the fact that you’re throwing digs to try to hurt somebody, it’s not the fact that you’re being disrespectful just because,” T-Boz explains before taking a dig at Kenya Moore’s season 6 “RHOA” reunion antic that resulted in Porsha Williams dragging her across the floor. “And bullhorns in people’s faces, then you want to call lawyers. Like you can’t do disrespectful things and think you’re not going to get hit or something.”

Chiming in, Chilli noted that all stars of the “Housewives” franchise include moments that don’t gel with TLC’s image.

“They’re all acting the same way and we have a brand to protect and there’s just no way,” she says before noting she informed her publicist to “say ‘no’ in a way that lets them know that I would never go on a show like that.”

“Who wants to argue with old women all day?” T-Boz says. “That part of my life is gone. … Good things and good vibes.”

In response to their admission, those who caught the interview doled out mixed reactions online.

“Good for them !!!”

“We have a brand to protect 🐸 ☕️👀”

“U would want 2 do sumthing cause yall gone need sum checks.”
