‘Psychopath!’: Safaree Samuels Slammed for Attacking Fur Ban After Declaring He’s Vegan

Love and Hip Hop: New York” star Safaree Samuels is under fire for his apparent morally inconsistent actions.

The 37-year-old television personality is taking action against a new fur ban proposal before the City Council in New York. He even made it on local news station ABC7 for his stance against the issue, calling the proposal straight up “bull.”

“How could these people have the nerve to come and tell us that we cannot buy — or these people cannot work and sell fur,” he said. “That is absolutely ridiculous and I’m not for it. That’s straight up bull. No fur ban.”

Samuels also hasn’t been shy on social media about his opinions on the matter. He claimed the fur ban proposal was targeted at Black Americans, and if passed it would also equate to thousands of jobs being lost.

“🗣IM NOT FOR IT!! Safaree X 🌚🌚 thousands of jobs will be lost if this goes through for a lot of hardbworking ppl! our choice out right #NoFurBan #furinpeace STR888,” he wrote on his Instagram page Wednesday evening.

The “LHHNY” star even criticized animal rights organization group PETA, blasting them for allegedly comparing animal rights to the civil rights movement.

“… Groups like PETA equate the fight for civil rights with animal rights, comparing the American Kennel Club to the Ku Klux Klan,” he noted along with a photo of him wearing a brown fur coat. “Calling Aretha Franklin “a walrus in a cat costume.” Ban mcdonalds too then for selling meat! #NoFurBan @CoreyinNYC NO FUR BAN!!!”

Well, it seems the reality star himself is also catching flak. Social media scolded Samuels for being a vegan, a person who abstains from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and or rejects the commodity status of animals, but yet protesting for the use of animal fur.

“Bro didn’t you just say you were vegan? 🤦🏾‍♂️ wow you’re disgusting you psychopath! Fuk you!”

“This is the same person who vowed to not eat meat like a month ago LMFAOOOO WAT AN IDIOT 😂😂😂 #doanythingforclout.”

“So sad to see a fellow vegan, such as yourself, support cruelty. Very different circumstances, let’s just focus on the fact that these are your decisions. YOUR choices are cruel. Please, don’t justify your cruelty. Focus on what you are supporting when buying fur #banfur #Yesbanfur #cruelchoices #unintelligentchoices.”

“🤮this is disgusting !! Stop exploiting the vulnerable!! Smh how can you support an individual like this ?? It’s about cruelty !!!!! Not race #banfakeveganism.”

In late April, Samuels announced he’d become vegan after watching Netflix documentary “What the Health,” which purports to uncover “the secret to preventing and even reversing chronic diseases,” according to IMDb.

“I just watch ‘what the health’ on Netflix .. As of today I am now a Vegan.,” he Tweeted on April 27, adding in his Instagram caption, “Unbelievable… if you haven’t watched it please do. It can save your life.”

As far as the newly proposed fur ban, it was suggested by New York City Councilman Corey Johnson. He urged fellow council members to prohibit the sale of fur in the state, calling it the “moral thing to do,” New York Times reported.

Although Samuels’ seeming conflict with his recent lifestyle change is heavily backfiring on him, there are a mass of people who still support him.

“It’s funny how you guys are bashing Safaree when half of ya’ll still eating meat 😂. #imstillwearingfur.”

“I agree with Safaree police know black folks wear fur and now they want to ban it how coincidental.”
