Angela Simmons recent holiday wear apparently was a no-go.
The “Growing Up Hip Hop” star usually wins fans over with her fashion selections, but apparently that’s not always the case. She took to Instagram on Sunday with a Mother’s Day post of a chain of images of herself and her son.
“Mother’s Day 2019 ‼️💗💞Got all the sunshine I need on this rainy day 🔆,” she captioned the photos.
However, her Mother’s Day post took a wretched turn when folks put their attention on her apparent fashion misfit. Simmons sported a pink metallic tunic, a pair of tan-and-black Fendi tights and black and gold rain boots, causing quite a stir.
“Sis what you got on oh she playin 😒… playin some soccer soccer with them shin guards🤦🏾♂️.”
“Girl?? What are u wearing? Who let you wear that??”
“@angelasimmons Bin that whole outfit, I say! that shxt is an absolute hell no! #happymothersday ✌🏽.”
“🤦🏾♀️ What in tha….. that outfit is 🤮 you should’ve just left the leggings off. Your son dressed better than you.”
Others defended her against critics.
“Lol this is so my fashion style everyone saying diff just want something to say.”
“Her fit is fly right.. She killed that s–t.. My baby can where whatever she like and still kill that 😍. Ya’ll just miserable.”
Simmons’ Mother’s Day’s post comes weeks after mourning her beloved maternal grandmother. Her father, DJ Rev Run of Run-DMC, noted his former mother-in-law’s death in late April, but specifics of her death are unknown.
Her passing affected the entire Simmons family, causing the “GUHH” star to write, “Grandma…We are going to miss you so much…we love you” along with a picture of her grandmother and her toddler son Sutton Joseph.
Her older sister Vanessa Simmons also mourned the loss of their loved one, whose actual name seemingly was omitted from the grieving family’s social media posts, writing on Instagram, “Been in disbelief and denial all day that this is real. You will be missed Gramma.”
The passing of Angela and Vanessa’s grandmother comes five months after the 32-year-old ex-fiancé Sutton Tennyson was shot dead in November outside of his Atlanta home.
