It had been more than two decades since Offset has seen his father, but the love the Atlanta-based rapper has for his dad had not dulled in that time.
The Migos star on Friday uploaded a video to his Instagram page capturing the emotional reunion between the father and son, which saw Offset’s dad shedding a few tears in the process.
“DREAMS DO COME TRUE HAVENT SEEN MY FATHER IN 23 YEARS !!!!!! AND I STILL LOVE HIM THE PAST IS THE PAST AND THE PRESENT IS ALL WE HAVE TO RELY ON WE NOT PERFECT IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM I LOVE YOU POPS !!! NO MATTER WHAT!!!!” Offset wrote in the caption of the April 26 video.
In response, fans poured out with messages of support for the long-awaited reunion. Some even mentioned how much the clip moved them.
“You are so strong WARRIOR! Grown man father of four and you still needed your dad it’s beautiful to see a black man acknowledge that and show raw emotion.”
“@dippedinchanel_ Damn I’m So Sorry You Went Thru All That. My Deepest Condolences Goes To You And Yours 🙏🏽 I Know That Road Was Bumpy.”

Offset’s wife Cardi B also applauded the moment.
Reflecting on the reunion over the weekend, the 27-year-old performer posted a throwback photo Sunday with the caption, “LAST TIME I SEEN MY DADDY GOD IS AMAZING.”
He also posted a new pic with his dad as they posed in front of a car. Offset wrote, “WE SOO MUCH ALIKE IT SCARY UNITED AS ONE.”
Offset has spoken out on his relationship with his father before. While speaking on “The Breakfast Club” in February, the MC said he had not seen his father since he was 4 years old.
“Where you at? Pull up! I ain’t got no beef with you,” he said, expressing enthusiasm about wanting to reconcile with his dad. “I talked to him when I turned 12. He called me, like, on my birthday … never heard back. Then I hear from him when I turned like 22. … The last time I talked to him was 2016.”
He added that every time he spoke to his dad, he offered to send him money.
“You on a payphone?” he recalls. “Man, listen. I’m about to send you $20,000. Where you at? I’ll fly a jet to you, I’ll come get you.”
When Offset would ask his grandma about his father, she’d say she didn’t hear from him.
“I know he on drugs for sho'” Offset said. “He been shot in the stomach. He got in a car crash and an 18-wheeler, broke his hip, got his hip replaced. It’s just a lot. And I don’t know what happened. But I love him, though.”
