“Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” alumna Erica Mena recently admitted to putting on a few pounds, and it’s appears to be all of her fiancé Safaree Samuels‘ fault.
Fans have been pointing out Mena’s seemingly thicker frame in her photos and assumed it had something to do with the “Hunnid” rapper. Well, it appears fans were right, and the 31-year-old model confessed to gaining a lot of weight.
She took to Instagram a few days ago with a photo of herself in the pool while vacationing in Kingston, Jamaica, earlier this month. In the photo, Mena showed off all of her physical assets, including her thighs and buttocks, while modeling a two-piece bikini by Bikini Crush swimwear.
The former “LHHATL” star wrote in her caption, “Incredible sex and festival 🙌🏽 swimwear.”
Fans pointed out her ostensibly bigger cakes, saying her supposed weight gain looks “good” on her.
“You look., AHHHHMAZING 😍😍 happiness suits you!! @iamsafaree yess!”
“Happiness looks great on you 🍑🤤, you were always beautiful but lately you having been glowing on a different level! ain’t nothing wrong with a little happy weight girl ❤️😘!”
One fan commented underneath the celeb’s picture, “@iamerica_mena Is it me or is @iamsafaree getting you thicky thick sis 😍!!”
Mena bluntly responded, “😫 He is. I’ve gained a lot of weight since I said yes,” referring to her acceptance of Samuels’ marriage proposal.
Still, a few fans assured her that the extra weight suited her.
“Gettin thicker 😍 and it looks good!”
“You look a little thicker it might be happiness 😩😍 you guys make a great couple.”
A few others felt the opposite.
“Girl we see you thick but put some clothes on always showing 🤢 your a–.”
“Girl Safaree ain’t do nothing those are a– shots sis🤷!”
Despite how anyone may feel about Mena and Samuels’ relationship, the pair seem extremely happy with each other.
Just last month the model announced on Instagram that they were trying to conceive a baby.
They first revealed they were dating around November 2018, a month after she broke up with her ex Cliff Dixon, who was shot and killed in mid-March. The pair then got engaged on Christmas Eve after the New York rapper proposed to her at her Atlanta home. They’ve supposedly set the date for the wedding but have yet to announce it on social media.
The couple first starred on MTV’s “Scared Famous” together in 2017, which Samuels claims is when he first started having feelings for his now-fiancée.
“When we did scared famous I use to say so many things jokingly not knowing it would become real life,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Jan. 10. “I am so in love with you.”
