Nearly two weeks after April Fools’ Day, Peter Thomas pulled the one over on fans.
The one-time Bravolebrity on Friday uploaded a photo to his Instagram page posing with girlfriend Toni Scott at the Register of Deeds in Charlotte, North Carolina. The two stood in front of a sign that read, “Marriage licenses, notary oaths, vital records.”
“We took the short cut,😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ @sportsoneclt @cluboneclt @baronemiamibeach,” Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband captioned the April 12 post.
In response, many of his followers initially congratulated him and Scott, who have been dating since 2017.

Fans of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” remarked that Thomas wanted to beat Bailey, who said she’ll wed boyfriend of a year Mike Hill by 2020, down the aisle.
“No one cares! You’re just trying to beat Cynthia to the alter!”

After leading fans to believe he tied the knot with Scott for a few hours, Thomas finally came clean and revealed it was actually his friend Patrick Moore who got married.
“Ok, I had fun today f—ing with y’all 😂. My friend @tpat.moore got married today at the courthouse, me & @iloveyoutoni was the witnesses ❤️ them. #charlotte #queencity,” Thomas disclosed.
Once the jig was up, many of the Bar One owner’s followers said they figured he didn’t actually get married, perhaps because of the laughing emoji Thomas included in his initial caption. Thomas’ outfit choice also lent to some skepticism.

While Thomas is content with continuing to date Scott, his ex-wife Bailey has made it clear she is more than willing to marry her Fox Sports 1 newscaster boyfriend — even though she swore off marrying again following her 2017 divorce from Thomas.
“Well, I want to marry this man. I love this man. We have time,” Bailey said on “The Real” in March. “When Mike is ready and when God is ready, that’s when we will get married. However, I do predict that Mike and God will be ready sometime next year. Praise God! You know it’s crazy, we talk about it all the time. I’ve been married before, Mike has been married before. We have kids already, we’re enjoying the process.”
