It seems more and more people are becoming fans of Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena‘s relationship.
Late last year, when Samuels and Mena first announced they were dating, they were met with a wave of criticism from fans who called their relationship a publicity stunt. However, more fans appear to be taking a liking to the “Love and Hip Hop” stars together.
Mena took to Instagram on Tuesday with a photo of herself and her fiancé standing together, seemingly on the balcony of their vacation rental in Kingston, Jamaica. The 31-year-old model gushed over her and Samuels’ ability to communicate with each other, highlighting it as one of their relationship strengths.
“One of my favorite things about our relationship is the ability to push all the bad feelings away, work through a problem, and come out on the other side, loving each other more than we did before,” she wrote in her caption, adding a heart and prayer emoji.
Fans who may have not supported the couple in the beginning confessed that they are beginning to warm up to them.
“I guess they’re growing on me 🙄,” one fan commented underneath Mena’s post. “Slowly but surely.”
Another agreed and added, “Same here I actually kinda like them together.”
Someone else commented, “OK OK I believe y’all… y’all relationship then grew on me 🤷.”
The pair’s day-one supporters gushed over Mena’s sweet post.
“Y’all are so cute together! I’m here for this.🙌 It’s got all the right ingredients in it. He will make you happy!”
“Yall look good together!!!😍😍😍😍…. So happy you found love❤️❤️ @iamerica_mena .”
In November 2018, Samuels and Mena were rumored to be dating after they were spotted together at a Jazz-Nets basketball game. The pair officially confirmed their relationship in December when the New York rapper proposed to Mena on Christmas Eve with friends and family around.
The “No Regular Girl” rapper told fans on Dec. 26 that he and Mena already set a wedding date, although he did not confirm the date.
He was in 12-year relationship with female rap artist Nicki Minaj, but the two called it quits in 2014. He said Minaj treated him more like an employee than her man, and he decided to walk away from their relationship.
Mena was engaged to hip-hop star Bow Wow in 2014, but they went their separate ways in late 2015. She claimed Bow was mentally abusive, which led to their breakup.
