‘Awesome Dad’: ‘Power’ Star La La Anthony Posts Loving Video of Carmelo Anthony Teaching Their Son His Signature Hoop Move

Even though Carmelo Anthony has been traded from two NBA teams in two seasons and currently isn’t playing in the league, he still could be considered one of the best scorers of his generation. And now he’s passing those skills on to his son Kiyan.

On Thursday, La La Anthony posted a clip of her husband teaching their boy his famous jab step, the move where a player makes the defender think he’s dribbling one way, only to dart the other at the last second. It’s something the former New York Knick made a career out of.

Plus, based on what the “Power” actress wrote in the caption, she was equally thrilled that Kiyan was learning his dad’s move, and that her two men were spending quality time together.

“What a blessing…when your dad is your greatest teacher🙏🏽Kiyan is getting that jab step down,” she wrote. “Learning from the best to ever do it 🏀🏀🏀 #stayme7.”

In the clip, you can see the 12-year-old executing the step just like his father, and he completes it by hitting several jump shots that hit nothing but net. Kiyan also shows that he’s equally comfortable going to his right and left, something that’s crucial for all great scorers to do.

After the video made the Internet rounds, people lit up the comment section with positive words.

“Awesome DAD little man is going to be a problem mark my words 🔥” someone wrote.

“So adorable!! He seems really serious and dedicated 🏀,” another person commented.

There were also people who seemed thrilled to see Mr. Anthony even touch a basketball again, since he hasn’t played in the NBA since 2018.

“I pray somebody pick Melo up!!! He definitely can help any contender… It ain’t over Champ!!” one fan wrote.

“Can’t wait to see you shine like yo pops,” another person wrote to Kiyan. “And melo lbj need you bro come back you a allstar still.”
