Talk show host Wendy Williams has been at the eye of a hurricane of controversy lately, and not everybody was compassionate toward her situation, including “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Masika Kalysha.
Around late December, Kalysha made some pretty harsh remarks toward Williams when rumors circulated that the talk show host was divorcing her husband Kevin Hunter after he allegedly impregnated a woman whom he allegedly has been having an affair with for some 10 years.
“Now imma delete this very soon bc I don’t enjoy seeing other women hurt by (and blamed for the actions of) the men they entrusted unlike you do… but I was just wondering @wendyshow can we get a chart for this,” Kalysha wrote in a now delete Instagram post along with a screenshot of a headline alleging Williams and Hunter’s divorce.
The reason the “GUHHATL” star shaded the “Wendy Williams Show” host was because of a chart Williams showed of celebrity baby mamas, a chart Kalysha and Fetty Wap, father of her 2-year-old daughter, were both a part of.
However, within the last few months, news of Williams’ husband’s alleged affair with his mistress has gotten even messier, and Kalysha feels bad for her former jabs toward the 54-year-old.
The 34-year-old mother of one took to Twitter on March 28 — a few days after reports claimed that Hunter and his alleged mistress welcomed a child — and apologized for her cruel remarks towards Williams.
“I’ve said some petty things recently about @WendyWilliams, honestly just b/c I’m actually a fan of hers & was highly offended about her chart & the inaccuracies & how she mentioned my name knowing that my time has had prior communication with her team so anyone could have,” Kalysha tweeted.
She said she sent Williams an email apologizing to her, saying she feels bad for everything she’s going through as a “woman.”
“She busted her ass for her career and her success & her husband has no right to do this to her,” Kalysha continued. “I’m praying for you @WendyWilliams & I hope u get the peace u deserve. Cut him & his allowance off!”
The reality star said although she doesn’t agree with Williams reporting celebrity gossip for a living, she didn’t deserve to be “cheated” on.
“She doesn’t deserve to have a lying cheating piece of sh-t husband making a home with a hoe while she works hard,” she said.
Social media commented Kalysha for taking the high road and apologizing to Williams for her past remarks.
“I agree…. nobody deserves that .. not even Wendy 😩 that’s Growth Masika, I respect it 🙌🏾.”
“Agreed! Don’t wish heartbreak and relapse on anyone. I respect Masika for that 💯.”
“Big ups Masika! No one deserves that, no matter what they do for a living.”
“I love Masika. She keeps it real alwayss😘. Yes Wendy, hold your head 👆, it ain’t love of it hurts.”
