“Love and Hip Hop” couple Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels appear to be taking their relationship to whole other level.
The model recently confirmed on social media that she and Samuels are in the process of having a child. For months now, people speculated that Mena was pregnant, but she and Samuels ignored the rumors.
When the 31-year-old announced the news, she appeared to still be in Jamaica with her fiancé, who’s apparently shooting a new music video there according to his social media feed. While on Instagram Live with a friend on Thursday evening, Mena said she’d been using sea moss — a supposed age-old Caribbean fertility concoction for couples trying to have a child — during her stay in the Caribbean.

“I’ve had sea moss,” Mena said to her friend. “‘Cause you know we’re trying to have a baby, so we’re putting it inside our drinks and stuff.”
Fans congratulated the pair on their journey of expanding their family.
“Good for her 😍!” said one fan. “This is amazing especially when two grown adults want the same thing. Blessings to them both.”
“That’s gonna be a beautiful baby. Congrats you two!”

Others felt Samuels and Mena were moving too fast in their relationship, while questioning the model’s mothering skills to her 12-year-old son King who’s from her former relationship with rapper Raul Conde.

Mena and Samuels first announced they were dating around November 2018, a month after she broke up with her ex Cliff Dixon, who was shot and killed last week. The pair then got engaged on Christmas eve after the New York rapper proposed to her at her Atlanta home. They’ve supposedly set the date for the wedding but have yet to announce it on social media.
The couple first starred on MTV’s “Scared Famous” together in 2017, which Samuels claimed he first started having feelings for his now-fiancée.
“When we did scared famous I use to say so many things jokingly not knowing it would become real life,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Jan. 10. “I am so in love with you. The respect you give me, the way you uplift me and make me feel like a man is something people wouldn’t believe. I get to be with the real you and I love every second of it.”
