“Right before I came here, he talked about separating,” Leakes explains to pal Cynthia Bailey on the season 11 episode of “RHOA” that aired March 17. “He said he would go ahead and find him a place. Last night I felt like I broke because he is so mean. I get that it’s a sickness but I can’t be talked to quite like that.”
Bailey, who pointed out the pair were already living in separate rooms, was stunned.
The episode aired after a report emerged from Media Take Out News about Gregg, who is currently continuing to battle colon cancer, moving out of their home. The site said it confirmed Gregg signed a prenuptial agreement upon re-marrying his bride in 2013. Allegedly, Gregg would get nothing from Nene under the terms.
Nene and Gregg were first wed in 1997 and divorced in 2011. She explained on TV One’s “Uncensored” that doing so was “me teaching Gregg a lesson.”
The chatter over a potential new separation spilled out onto Leakes’ newest Instagram post on Sunday. One fan dropped a particularly lengthy response criticizing Nene for taking the “coward way out” by leaving her spouse supposedly because she wasn’t sexually satisfied.
Nene hopped in to clarify she and Gregg have never separated during this time and made it plain the episode was filmed some nine months ago and it doesn’t reflect where they are now.
“@criswellgloria First of all, this episode was shot in July 2018. Secondly, Gregg and i are VERY much together and has NEVER been apart from each other during this entire time
“@criswellgloria You’re probably the dumbest troll ever. She is still with her husband and this was filmed months ago!!! You’re far from Real more like a troll spewing hate on a person page who you watch on tv.”
“@criswellgloria WTF is your ass talking who said she split up w/ Greg or has erectile dysfunction😬 yooo these troll be hella disrespectful AF and Wild’n you are madly bugging and sound highly stupid AF w/ that fake concern. Just STOPPPP. 🙄🤦🏽♀️👀”
While the Leakes seemingly are doing well now, Nene has said previously that Gregg’s “meanness” throughout his treatment has taken a toll on her.
Last fall, Nene posted a series of tweets asking fans how normal it is for ill loved ones to be so spiteful toward their caretakers.
“When people are sick, is it normal for them to be mean,” she wondered. “They talk mean to the person that’s helping? So stressful.”
“Yep and they are the meanest to the people closest to them,” a fan replied.
“I can’t take it,” Nene said.
