Kandi Burruss Mommy-Shamed for Competing on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and Missing Son’s Recital

As Kandi Burruss continues to stay safe in the “Celebrity Big Brother” house, that means she’s forced to continue to be away from her family.

Since contestants on the CBS reality series are not allowed to use their phone to stay connected to the outside word, Burruss recently missed her son’s performance at school.

“Hate I’m missing @acewellstucker Chinese New Year Performance 😢,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star’s social media manager said on her behalf on the singer’s Instagram page Saturday, Feb. 9.

Some fans were sympathetic toward Burruss, who is known to hustle hard in her career.

“Out securing his future, you should never hate that Mom.😊”

“Kandi you are a Great mom and you know this it’s hard being a working mom and we moms that work all know this and we support you and love you good job 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽”

“He is so cute Kandi. I’m sorry you’re missing him. He will still love you and will understand. I’ve had to miss performances myself and it does suck. Hugs to you. Keep going on BB! I’m rooting for you. ❤️👏”

But others felt the working mom needed to decide that family is most important. Some even pointed to an example on the season premiere of RHOA when Burruss was explaining how she’s there for her kids, only to learn she missed Ace’s parent-teacher conference.

“Ur always missing something smh.”

“Family first. You work too hard. It’s okay to miss a few dollars, you’re already a rich bish 😩😂😘”

“Yeah because you’re soooo busy with so much other stuff that you always missing the little important things in life. I won’t be surprised if you miss his graduation.”

“Better start making his s— nothing is more important than that! Unless something is more important than that?💯💯💯💯💯”

However, there won’t be many more events CBB will prevent Burruss from attending. This week marks the final stretch of the competition. By Feb. 13, viewers’ votes will be tallied to see which celebrity houseguest will take home the $250,000 prize.
