Fans Bamboozled by Erica Mena’s Post With Safaree After Thinking It’s a Baby Announcement

Fans of “Love and Hip Hop” couple Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels were really looking forward to the couple announcing their speculated pregnancy.

Folks speculated that Mena had a bun in the oven after some claimed she altered a recent photo of her stomach to make it look smaller.

“I think she tried to photoshop her belly to not look pregnant,” a fan commented on a photo of hers posted on Feb. 7.

The 31-year-old took to Instagram on Feb. 7 and shared a darling photo of herself and Samuels in front of a backdrop of hearts holding a teddy bear.

She captioned the image of herself and Samuels, “Couldn’t decide between a teddy bear or roses so he got me both ❤️.”

Since the sparking of pregnancy rumors surrounding the couple and the posting of Mena and Samuels’ intimate photo on Thursday, fans automatically assumed the pair were making a baby announcement.

“Not gonna like I thought this was a baby announcement I nearly screamed 🤦‍♀️,” a fan wrote. “You guys please! My heart 😂.”

Another person followed up and wrote, “Me too!! I’m waiting for that day 😍.”

“Who else thought they were announcing their pregnancy😂 ?” another asked. “We know ya pregnant 😍 .”

Mena and Samuels, Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend, publicly announced they were dating in November 2018. The two were spotted at a Jazz-Nets game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., wearing matching fur coats.

A few months later in December, Samuels proposed to his fiancée on Christmas Eve at her home in Atlanta. He reportedly spent $175,000 on Mena’s 14-carat platinum engagement ring. Samuels announced on Twitter that he and his bride-to-be have set the date for a wedding but did not reveal any details to the public. He also told fans that he’s been in love with his fiancée since they starred on VH1’s reality series “Scared Famous” in 2017.

“I use to say so many things jokingly not knowing it would become real life. I can’t wait for you to be my wife,” he wrote on Instagram in January. “I am so in love with you.”
