Tami Roman Wows in Fitted Dress and Big Hair as She Walks ‘American Soul’ Red Carpet

Tami Roman’s grind never stops.

The actress just wrapped the first season of her BET show “Carl Weber’s The Family Business” last week, and on Monday night, she was on hand to cover the Los Angeles premiere of the network’s series “American Soul.”

To walk the red carpet and interview the stars of the show for BET Her, Roman sported curly hair, a bold red lip and a metallic white dress by Fashion Nova.

“It’s never the same…” Roman simply captioned her Feb. 4 image.

The star’s glamorous look, which was sculpted by makeup artist Jaquelyn Huerta and celebrity hairstylist J Stay Ready, certainly fit the vibe of the series. “American Soul” chronicles the rise and fall of “Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius in an unforgiving 1970s Hollywood.

Fans were certainly feeling the “Basketball Wives” star’s festive look, and they said so in the comments.

“Come thruuuuu miss tami!!!! 💗🔥🙌”

“😍😍😍😍You have took my whole breath away.”

“Yes ma’am press ham! Category is Diana Ross Realness!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤”

“Dope! Hair is 🔥”

“This look might be my new favorite but you’ve been giving us so many looks lately I’m spoiled now lol 🔥🔥”

As fun as her look was, however, Roman was on the red carpet at the Wolf Theatre in Southern California with a job to do. The star caught up with pal Kelly Price for a hug and an interview. The R&B singer-songwriter plays Brianne Clarke, a “wise yet cautious …  head of the Clarke household and mother of Simone and Kendall. She recognizes her children’s talents but is wary of the heartache life as entertainers could bring them.”

Followers who caught a glimpse of Roman’s interview with Price were just as full of applause for that as they were over her outfit.

“Mrs.Roman lookin Sharpe always lookin good!!!! Love you!”

“This is what winning look like!!! I love you Tami! I’m so happy to see all the doors that are opening for you!!!”

“I’m so proud of your evolution..Keep doing your thang!!”

“American Soul” premieres on BET and BET Her Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m.

Independent journalism still matters.

We hope this story was worth your time. For over 14 years, Atlanta Black Star has stayed Black-owned and independently run. We didn't get here by waiting on ad budgets that were never built to prioritize us. Our readers did that.

Corporate support for Black media has always been thin. Outlets like ours get roughly 1% of the $170 billion spent on U.S. advertising each year, and that margin is shrinking further as advertisers walk back the DEI-linked commitments they made in 2020. That's the backdrop. It's not why we're asking.

The wider picture isn't any steadier. Newspaper ad revenue has fallen more than 80% since 2005, and local newsrooms are closing at a rate of roughly two a week nationwide. When outlets go under, it's rarely the ones built to center a Black perspective from the ground up that get to stick around.

We know a request for support isn't why you came here. But without readers choosing to fund this work directly, the depth of reporting we can do at home and abroad shrinks along with everyone else's. If you're not in a position to give, that doesn't change how much we value you as a reader.

If you are able to, a recurring contribution does more for us than a single one-time gift, because it lets us plan the next investigation instead of just the next invoice. It takes about 30 seconds, no long form, no account. Thank you for continuing to support independent journalism and freedom of the press.
