Not too long ago, it looked like Toni Braxton and Birdman may have reconciled, and now there seems to be even more proof that’s the case.
The Cash Money boss took to Instagram on Friday, Feb. 1, posted a photo of himself and the singer snuggling, captioning the image with “4 life ❤️ @tonibraxton.”
He did this after the celebrity couple broke up in early January, which ended a brief engagement. But Birdman showed up to Braxton’s show on the 23rd of that month at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, and it was was the first sign they may be giving their union another go.
A lot of fans of the singer and the record label owner were thrilled about the recent Instagram photo and wrote comments like “I love the love” and “Yayyyyyyyyy love wins.”
But there were many who said they’re baffled by the relationship and consider the pair to be a true odd couple.
“I’m sorry. I just can’t accept her being with him,” one Instagram user wrote.
“This whole relationship is depressing,” another commented.
The first time there was talk that Birdman and Braxton were more than friends came in 2016 when the New Orleans native stopped by the singer’s performance at the inaugural opening of Grammy Park, a four-day live music event in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Then when the reported longtime friends arrived together on the BET red carpet in 2016, people seemed almost convinced they were an item.
But all of the guessing stopped in September of the following year when the “You’re Making Me High” performer confirmed the relationship on “The Wendy Williams Show.” Braxton was seen sporting a huge engagement ring after that.
Then arguably, the first sign of trouble came when the singer’s engagement ring was stolen in November of 2018, because she left it in her luggage on a flight. Some on social media asked why she wasn’t wearing the ring on her finger and said the reason couldn’t be good.
At this time, neither Braxton or Birdman have confirmed their engagement is back or if they’re even fully back together.
