Future has talked about his ex Ciara and her marriage to Russell Wilson before but not like he did in a recent interview.
The Atlanta rapper was interviewed Thursday by his friend Big Black Bank, and the informal nature of the chat really made him open up. In one part, Bank asked Future what he really thought about Wilson and told him to answer without thinking first.
“He do exactly what she tell him to do,” said Future about the NFL quarterback. “I don’t have no feelings for [him].”
“Do you feel like a n—- go too far, though? I’m talking about your son. Do you think the n—- go too far?” asked Bank.
“He’s not being a man at that point,” responded the “The WZRD” creator. “You not telling her, ‘Chill out with that on the Internet. Don’t even talk to him. I’m your husband. You better not even bring Future’s name up.’ If that was me, she couldn’t even bring his name up. She know that. She couldn’t even bring her exes’ names up. You don’t bring their name up in interviews. Don’t give that sh– no energy.”
The Freebandz founder then blasted Ciara for going through the court system to settle disputes over their son Future Zahir Wilburn and visitation.
In December of 2018, the singer filed legal documents to force her ex into mediation, because she claimed he wasn’t picking up their son consistently. Ciara also wanted to change the fact that baby Future has to fly across the U.S. to see his dad.
But the rapper said he’s a stellar father, and he criticized Wilson for posting photos of his son without introducing himself first.
“You already been around my kid when y’all start going together, when y’all posted the first picture and you haven’t even talked to me,” Future explained. “And when y’all get married, she was like ‘I want you to meet Russell now.’ Y’all already did all the damage. I don’t want to meet him now.”
Future then said he would never be around another man’s kids without meeting him first and suggested Russell was doing too much fatherly stuff while he’s still around.
“Because he have a daddy, and not only do he have a daddy, his daddy is in the public,” he stated.
Elsewhere in the interview, the “Mask Off” writer denied that he minds Wilson teaching baby Future how to play football, because he wants the best for his son and Wilson is a top quarterback.
