Simmons, who is the daughter of Joseph Simmons (better known as Reverend Run of Run-D.M.C.), made a name for herself in the fashion industry in 2007 when she and her older sister Vanessa Simmons launched their shoe line “Pasty.” The sneaker collection became quite popular for its bold and colorful patterns and was worn by many celebrities. She parted ways with the company a few years ago and began working on her solo fashion line.

During New York Fashion Week in September 2018, the 31-year-old mother presented her new womenswear line Bonnie Bouche in collaboration with COOGI. The line launched last fall offered women more than 20 fashion pieces that were bold, colorful and interwoven with funky-shaped patterns.

The Bonnie Bouche collection was created to empower women to embrace their body while admiring the uniqueness of others.

“I am so excited to announce the launch of Bonnie Bouche which for me represents power, femininity, and inclusiveness,” Simmons wrote on her brand’s website. “I hope this collection will inspire young women to feel confident and powerful in their wardrobe so that they can concentrate on conquering their goals.”
