After being named one of the top-earning TV hosts of the year, Steve Harvey is reflecting on his humble beginnings.
Forbes put the “Steve” host in the number five spot for raking in an estimated $44,000,000 last year from hosting his daytime talk show as well as shows like “Family Feud” and “Little Big Shots.”
After learning about his place on the list next to other TV personalities like Ellen DeGeneres and Judge Judy, Harvey recalled how he previously struggled in life and only overcame because of faith.
“I can tell you flat out unequivocally, without any reservation,” he says on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” Thursday, Nov. 29. “That the only way that this little boy out of Welch, W. Va., the one with the stuttering problem, the one they said wasn’t ever gon’ be nothin’ the one that flunked out of school, the one that was homeless and lived in a car for three years. The only way I exist today is because the God I serve is a God of upheld promises and truths. If it wasn’t for his grace and mercy, on me, man…”
Harvey’s honor won him praise from fans, too.
“Tell the true story Steve!! To God be the Glory!!!”
