Kandi Burruss Says Marlo Hampton’s Antics Led to Reality Show Getting Scrapped

Kandi Burruss was set to produce a reality show starring Marlo Hampton but the program never came to fruition. Now, she’s explaining why in a new interview.

News of Burruss’ plans emerged in May and claimed the singer was behind a show called “Hotlanta” and would focus on the lives of Atlanta residents along the lines of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Hampton would have left her long-time spot as a friend of RHOA to star on the program. Meanwhile, Burruss would keep her peach on the show while she served as an executive producer of “Hotlanta,” according to the Jasmine Brand.

But things fell through and “Hotlanta” was scrapped just before filming started.

“We actually did have a show that I was producing,” Burruss tells SiriusXM’s “The Jenny McCarthy Show” Thursday, Nov. 15. “And it ended up … being dropped, basically. … I don’t want to put blame on anyone. Basically, it was like the talent was being a little difficult with getting things done and they weren’t getting things done by a deadline, basically. And the network got fed up and was like, ‘If you’re showing us that you’re gonna be difficult at this point, then we’ll move on.'”

Fans who caught Burruss’ revelation had their own thoughts.

“This is so disappointing to hear because I was seriously looking forward to seeing more of her.”

“Some of us get in our own way.”

“I like marlo but she prob didnt want to share the coins with kandi. Marlo seem for self.”
