Nene Leakes is always trying to improve herself and naturally, sometimes she’ll have to leave some folks behind on that journey.
That seems to be the theme of her latest inspirational Instagram post, which “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star made Wednesday.
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” the Oct. 17 meme read. “All you did was grow. (And they got mad).”
“Who stays the same🤷🏽♀️ Growth is a beautiful thing,” Leakes added as an aside to the post.

The memo was heard loud and clear by her fans, too.

“Yes growth is a beautiful thing. Sometimes u have to cut negative people. Or surround yourself with positive people.”
“Yep. Some ppl want to walk over you for your whole life — if not they say ‘you’ve changed.'”
“With all these words to live by you really need to consider writing a book!! 🙌🏾❤️”
Still, some didn’t quite agree with the assertion.
“Still seems like an insecure…statement!!! Growth is when you can uplift each other..with kindness.!!”
“Get over yourself already and keep shining some people want to see you rise not everyone’s jealous☹️☹️☹️”
“Growth is when you stop being hateful and being happy for others who went through a lot to get pregnant. You know what am talking about 😏,” said one fan, throwing shade at Leakes for her apparent following out with former RHOA star Kenya Moore.
But Leakes has shown she has made strides in personal growth. Even on RHOA, she’s largely relinquished her role in the drama and become a sort of big sister figure to castmates like Porsha Williams.
And with her inspirational post in August, self-improvement was on Leakes’ mind.
“I am committed to being a better person today than I was yesterday. Better thoughts… better decisions… better actions!” she said at the time.
