Comedian Mo’Nique called for comedians Kevin Hart and Katt Williams to put their beef to rest and band together.
The “Queens of Comedy” star recently dropped by “The Cruz Show” on Power 106 in Los Angeles and gave her thoughts on celebrities in the entertainment industry trying to fight for the top spot. Mo’Nique explained how comedians and artists are too busy trying to compete with one another for the number one spot when there’s enough for everybody to get a “piece of the pie.”
“There’s so much pie out there that every single person can have a slice and then go back for some more,” Mo’Nique noted. “[But] When it comes to Black talent, when it comes to Mexican, Latinas it can only be one. When it comes to white talent it can be a mass.”
She continued, “I cannot wait for the day that there’s a movie coming out starring Kevin Hart and Katt Williams. Because they are two brilliant comedy geniuses.”
Mo’Nique is referring to the recent quarrel between Hart and Williams. Williams accused Hart of instigating the beef between he and Tiffany Haddish to attract publicity for Hart’s movie “Night School.” The “Friday After Next” comedian has challenged Hart to a $5 million comedy battle and doesn’t seem interested in quashing their beef.
Mo’Nique said she can’t wait for the day that both male comedians place the drama behind them and work together. She added, “They are all my babies and funny as hell.”
In January, the Oscar-winning actress called for her fans to boycott streaming service Netflix over alleged gender and race disparity.
“I am asking that you stand with me and boycott Netflix for gender bias and color bias,” she added.
