Despite the pair nearly scrapping inside a Friday night New York Fashion Week party, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B reportedly are not going to press charges against one another.
Sources told the Jasmine Brand Monday that Minaj isn’t going to take legal action against her rap nemesis, and it’s reported that Cardi also won’t be pursuing the case. Police reportedly asked the “I Like It” rapper if she wanted to press charges over the incident and she refused.
The viral altercation occurred at Harper’s Bazaar’d ICONS party. TMZ reported that Cardi wanted to confront Minaj “to address the lies Nicki was spreading.” But things escalated when she allegedly lunged at Minaj before being stopped inches away from her foe’s face. Insiders on Cardi’s team believed Minaj’s team had a plan in place if Cardi got close to Minaj, and that’s when one of the “Chun-Li” rapper’s security personnel elbowed Cardi in the face, resulting in a welt.
The conflict didn’t end there, however. Cardi unstrapped her shoe and hurled it at Minaj, but she missed. During the near-scuffle, Minaj was said to have remained calm. Meanwhile, Cardi was escorted out of the party with a knot on her head and a single shoe on after shouting about someone talking about her daughter, 2-month-old Kulture.
Minaj later left the party and blew kisses at the crowd before hopping into her vehicle.
The “Ring” rapper later fired off in a lengthy Instagram memo indicating she was simply pushed too far with Minaj.
“I’ve let a lot of sh*t slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f*ck up the way I eat!” Cardi said in part, “But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter, is when all bets are f—in’ off.”
