New Details Come to Light Following Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans’ Alleged Brawl

During New York Fashion Week, singers Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans were trending all over social media.

The ladies of R&B allegedly exchanged blows at a Friday night party at Diddy’s place in the Hamptons. However, there were no videos or photos of their rumored altercation, and representatives of various parties named in the incident say the story is totally false.

“The story is completely fabricated,” the Executive Vice President of Communications for Combs Entertainment told Heavy.

“I have no idea how this rumor started. Puffy didn’t even have a party,” One of Evans’ representative assured Hollywood Life. The “Soon As I Get Home” artist reportedly was in Newport Beach, California, not Long Island, New York, during the time of the alleged incident.

Although the alleged fight between Blige and Evans apparently is a hoax, shocked fans seemed willing to accept the news of the fake brawl at face value when it began trending on social media.

“Wait!!!! Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans got in a fight tonight too?!?!? Wtf is happening,” one Twitter user wrote.

“I went to sleep everything was peaceful in the world I wake to find out that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B got into fight Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans got in a fight,” another person tweeted.

“Me right now waiting for the Mary J Blige and Faith Evans fight video to break the internet.”

“U know damn well Mary J blige would’ve whoop Faith Evans.”

One fan said, “Wait @faithevans get into a fight with @maryjblige So I guess Women empowerment went out the window.”

The story of a fight between the two former Bad Boy Entertainment singers followed shortly after Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj‘s actual physical altercation Friday night in New York.

Blige and Evans worked together in the 1990s and were both signed to Diddy’s label. The two recorded the “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” duet together in 1995 but later had a falling-out.

However, the two seemingly buried their old beef in 2005 after they performed together at the BET Awards.
