Five years after their short-lived romance, K. Michelle is reflecting on her time with actor Idris Elba. The “Love and Hip Hop Hollywood” star dished on the now-engaged star’s interactions with her, including the moment he said monogamy was out of the question.
“He told me, he would never be committed to one woman,” she tells Hollywood Unlocked Tuesday, Aug. 7. “He said I would be taken care of, I would be fine but he would never commit to one woman.”
But that proved to be untrue, as Elba shocked the world when he became engaged to model Sabrina Dhowre in February. The move was a complete 180 from what the “Luther” star told Essence magazine in 2017, saying that he didn’t think marriage was “my life’s calling.”
“I’m like, ‘Damn, b—-, you had some s— I didn’t have!’ Men are different with different women,” she says. “That wasn’t supposed to be my man. I’ve learned out of every relationship I’ve been in or [men] I’ve dated, I learned the most from him. It wasn’t volatile or angry. He didn’t bring out [me] cursing him out. He was a gentleman.”
She also quickly took the time to shut down a rumor that her sex life with Elba was no good, eagerly sharing that her ex was “amazing” at oral sex.
Meanwhile, folks online have been shading the star’s candidness about her time with soon-to-be-married Elba, as the duo kept things private during their 8-month relationship.
