A freelance writer who was barely making ends meet was aided by a stranger who turned out to be rapper Ludacris.
Therra Jaramillo is a widow and has been going through a hard time since the passing of her husband who died of brain cancer. She’s struggled emotionally, mentally and especially financially.
The writer told 11 Alive, that she was due money from a client, but was never paid. She had little to almost no food in the house and her back account was almost empty. To make matters worst, Jaramillo couldn’t afford expenses for any home repairs and her heater had just given out.
“I was making rice and vegetables for me and the dogs,” the widow said.
Thankfully a friend of hers who she referred to as “Miracle Mary,” presented her with a $250 gift card to Whole Foods. However, Jaramillo spent well over her budget at the grocery store.
“I had gone way over, which at Whole Foods is far too easy to do.,” the woman wrote on her Facebook. “I was out of a lot of things at home and I hadn’t added things in my head correctly. My head hasn’t worked all month due to stress.”
To the widow’s surprise the shopper ahead of her offered to pay for all of her groceries. She added, “He turned to me and he said, ‘I said I got this.’ And I looked at him, and he said, ‘All of this, don’t put anything back.'”
Jaramillo was in tears. The cashier revealed the shopper was Atlanta artist Ludacris.
“And she goes, you know that’s a famous rapper, you know, that’s Ludacris. And I went, ‘What! What!’ and I screamed,” the woman said.
The writer took to Facebook on Monday and shared her experience with her social media friends. She wrote, “He gave me a gift that is not perishable…. Just like that, I thought how powerful kindness really is. And how life-changing unexpected kindness is. Everybody can do something.”
Jaramillo added, “Be like Ludacris y’all.”
