Colin Kaepernick’s Girlfriend Wants to Know Why His Name Is Censored from ‘Madden 19’ Like a Curse Word

A rap song that name dropped free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been edited to remove his name from the track and the footballer’s girlfriend wants to know why.

The new release “Madden 19” features the YG song “Big Bank,” which also features 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Nicki Minaj. But when Twitter user @jeanclervil played the game, he noticed Kaep’s name was nowhere to be heard.

“Bad enough @Kaepernick7 still not signed, but now they even edit his name out in this year’s @EAMaddenNFL during @BigSean verse, smh,” the user wrote.

The verse that includes the former San Francisco 49ers name goes, “Feed me to the wolves now I lead the pack and s—. You boys all cap, I’m more Colin Kaepernick.”

When Kaepernick’s longtime girlfriend, Nessa Diab noticed the tweet she wanted answers from the video games’ maker, EA Sports, and the NFL.

“Oh!!!!! @EAMaddenNFL who told you to edit Colin’s name out???? @nfl? @NFLPA Curious minds want to know 👁 Thanks Jean for the info!!! If you guys see more shady stuff send it over.”

In response, several other Twitter users slammed the decision to remove Kaep’s name.

“@NFL keeping it trashy as always.”

“Wow….. this is very unfortunate for @EAMaddenNFL I couldn’t happily play Madden knowing this. I’ll pass on getting the game this year. #smh.”

“That’s messed up.”

Kaepernick has now been censored from the NFL game much like he’s been censored from the league in real life. The QB began sitting and then kneeling during the national anthem in September 2016 and continued to do so to make a statement on the way Black people have been unfairly treated by police in America.

But by spring 2017, Kaep had become a free agent and has not been signed by another NFL team ever since. He filed a collusion lawsuit against the NFL last fall, claiming his ongoing free agency is because of a conspiracy by owners after his “Star Spangled Banner” protests.
